Support

Welcome to product support. Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions section for your operating system to help troubleshoot most of the common issues with our programs.

Software Compatibility

Macintosh: The current versions of our software run best on a Power PC G3 or better and OSX, 10.2.5 or higher.
Client Manager and Speech Visualization require OSX, 10.3.9 or higher.
Older versions work on Power PCs running OS7, OS8, OS9, or OSX in Classic Mode (10.2.5 and above).

Windows: The current versions of our software run best with a Pentium II or better chip and Windows 95/98/ME or Windows NT/2000/XP. Our preliminary tests indicate that our software runs fine on Vista.
Very old versions of our software will run on Windows 3.1 but not NT/2000/XP.
Speech Visualization requires a least a 900MHz Pentium III - a Pentium IV or better is recommended. The visualization of recordings may not be in real time on slower machines. Playback of pre-recorded sounds will be choppy if the program is not installed to the hard disk.

Older Power PCs and Pentiums will run the software but it will be very slow. RAM and Hard drive space are not really an issue for most users, but the programs do need around 12MB of available RAM. They prefer to have 64MB. You can install a shortcut using as little as 3-4MB of Hard Disk space. A full install will take between 100 MB and 680 MB depending on the title.

You do not need Admin privileges to install or run LocuTour software. In our testing it runs fine with user level privileges. The only thing that might cause a problem would be if for some reason you restrict writing to the users TEMP directory, since we use it for storing preferences and recordings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the password for the Options2 page?
The password is "options". If you typed it wrong you'll have to go back to the menu and type the password again. Then hit the "Return/Enter" key or click on the screen to continue.

How accurate are the volume measurements in Speech Visualization?
The measurements are estimated measures. The measurement can vary depending on microphone placement, input level setting in the computer, and type of microphone. It is intended to be used for comparison between different productions of the speaker to determine whether the speech was "too quiet, "normal", or "too loud". The ranges can be set to take account of the charactistics of your microphone and PC.

Upgrading Your Software

Through the years, we have updated our software to fix minor bugs and to add support for new operating systems. If you get a new computer running Windows and our software stops working then check our update page for downloadable updates. We do not have downloadable upgrades yet for OSX users.

If your title is not on the list or if you would like a new CD you can upgrade for $19 per title. To receive updated CD's, follow these steps:

  1. Gather all of your LocuTour CDs together and put them into one envelope or box. Do not use bubble-wrap envelopes.
  2. Make sure you only put in the CDs. Don't send us your cases, user manuals, or documentation.
  3. Make a check out to Learning Fundamentals, Inc. for $19 times the number of CDs and place it in the package
  4. OR enclose a credit card number and expiration date.
  5. Mail the package to our office
    Learning Fundamentals, Inc.
    1130 Grove St.
